Description

French cuisine training with a chef, professional trainer, in the historical center of La Rochelle, South West of France Be part of a small group, from 5 to 10 people, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, to learn wonderful and easy to remember French recipes. You will learn to use your imagination and creativity to be able to surprise your friends. The session includes the making of two recipes (main course and starter or dessert), few tricks explained by the Chef, presentation and decoration of the plates, laying of the table... Your partner may join the lunch to taste the courses prepared ! (30€ per person)

Take pleasure in cooking! With these cooking courses you will :
- Better know products of South West of France
- Make healthy meals and gastronomy compatible
- Learn and know how to express your imagination through cooking.

The course is :

- The active participation of everyone whatever their cooking experience,
- A small group, from 5 to 10 participants,
- Location : a "table d’hôtes" kitchen where there is no intimidation from professional tools and equipment
- A Chef, speaking fluent English, both a professional cook and a professional trainer

Arrive by 9.00am : welcome coffee. Cooking instruction until 1.00pm, 1.30pm : lunch and tasting of the prepared courses, with drinks included

The Chef

Laurent, our chef in La Rochelle, is a passionate of French cuisine. Born in Rochefort, Laurent learnt cooking in La Rochelle then in Paris.

Laurent, as an expatriate in South America, has been the chef at the most famous French restaurant in Caracas for more than 15 years. Among his guests were a number of local and international stars among whom Gerard Depardieu on a trip to Venezuela. Laurent is also proud to have received congratulations from special guests such as the Pope John Paul 2.

Laurent was awarded the grade of “Chef Rôtisseur” in the Internatioanl Society La Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs in 1993. During his 15 years in Caracas, Laurent released many of his recipes in magazines on gastronomy.

Laurent moved then to Toronto as the Executive Chef managing several and restaurants at the Hotel Intercontinental.

In 2005, Laurent decided to move back to France to take over the Hotel de la Paix, located in the old city of La Rochelle. It is there, in his kitchen and at his table d’hôtes that Laurent is pleased to welcome you for our French cooking courses.

Laurent is fluent both in English and Spanish.
